Flagship store opens in Mount Vernon!

Wow! This is crazy! I am so thankful and excited to personally meet all of our tulees customers as they walk through our doors just off First Street in downtown Mount Vernon. Literally in my backyard, and in the town I where I was raised! My family, friends, and community drove the icey, dicey roads of post-snow-storm Puget Sound for the Grand Opening event yesterday! I must say, I typically don't do crowds (just ask tulees marketing maven who can work a room like no one's fashion business). But last night was way fun! The sixteen days of all-out-massive-action to get the store ribbon-cutting-ready was all worth it!
Thank you, thank you and thank you again to my family, friends, and tulees construction team for painting, installing, and "repurposing" the former Kirby Vacuums space into a new home for the first ever tulees store! There are finishing touches yet to be done (that will be a ongoing process), but I'm so grateful, honored and humbled by all the hardwork and dedication from everyone. You all know who you are! You rock!

Inside tulees design studio...

Katie Senff (right), Nathan Ward (middle right)
Hi! I'm Katie Senff, tulees designer. My biggest motivator in creating the tulees brand is my passion for the fashion industry. Sounds cliché but fashion design is truly my love, and I'm excited to have such an early start in the industry. I love seeing my designs fly off the racks, inspiring, and empowering women to look and be their best!

I recently graduated from the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT), and wanted to break-out into the business right away! When my mentor, Nathan Ward, and I connected in our home town of Mount Vernon; I got more and more excited about my dreams. Nathan Ward is now my business partner. His experience in trading with garment manufacturers in 30 countries, domestic and overseas, gives him insider knowledge that sets tulees apart from other manufacturers.

I create women's sportswear from uniquely sourced fabric. Inside my Mount Vernon, Washington studio, remnants and military parachutes are cut, pinned and sewn into the samples of wearable fashion for women. Then, the designs are sent to our manufacturing arm in Costa Rica.

An eclectic set of mix and match skirts, leggings, jackets, tops and dresses are the now available in the Fall/Winter 2010 line. Shop now at tulees.com!
